Nende kaudu imenduvad organismi olulised toitained\u2013 valgud, rasvad, s\u00fcsivesikud, vitamiinid ja mineraalained. Teraviljades sisalduva gluteeni toimel tekib aga ts\u00f6liaakiahaigel peensoole limaskesta p\u00f5letik, mis p\u00f5hjustab peensoole hattude kahjustuse.
