Il commercio equo e solidale è una forma di mercato e un accordo internazionale che sostiene direttamente i piccoli agricoltori e i produttori svantaggiati in Africa, Asia e Sud America. I prodotti equi e solidali vengono realizzati nei Paesi in via di sviluppo e per la loro produzione bisogna seguire dei rigorosi standard internazionali. I principali sono caffè, cacao, tè, zucchero, cioccolato, frutta tropicale, riso, cannella, noci, olio, oro e cotone.
I cinque principi del commercio equo: prezzo giusto nei confronti di chi produce, divieto del lavoro minorile, condizioni di lavoro dignitose, sviluppo delle comunità locali e sostenibilità ambientale.
