Dr. Iichiroh Ohhira, an awarded microbiologist and the developer of Dr. OHHIRA® probiotic preparations, was born in 1936 in Osaka, Japan. While working in Malaysia, he fell ill, and to alleviate his digestive problems, a local resident offered him a "magical elixir," which surprisingly quickly improved his poor health and at the same time sparked his professional interest. After researching this Malaysian product as an amateur scientist, Dr. Ohhira decided to investigate the secrets of this "magical elixir" and how all of humanity could benefit from it. He then returned to Okayama University to obtain a second degree in microbiology. Following extensive research and experiments, he was inspired to develop a fermentation method that would enable him to do something useful on a global level, ensuring health and longevity for all of mankind.
