Folic acid and iodide are important for healthy physical and mental development. Amongst other things, folic acid contributes towards the growth of a mother's tissue during pregnancy and towards normal amino acid synthesis and haematopoiesis. Iodide supports a normal energy metabolism and the cognitive functions, i.e. all those processes in the brain which concern thinking, feeling, perception etc.
Vitamin E is one of the fat-soluble vitamins our body needs but cannot produce itself. It therefore relies on sufficient supply through nutrition. Linseed oil is made from the ripe seeds of the flax plant (Linum usitatissimum) by gentle cold-pressing. Linseed oil consists of approximately 90% of unsaturated fatty acids, at what the essential omega-3-fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) represents a high proportion. Also, the precious essential omega-6-fatty acid linoleic acid is contained in linseed oil.
